The South West Coast Path

Discover England's longest national trail
It has been with great pleasure that DUTCHELS was associated with the 'Discover England's South West Coast Path' project, from December 2016 to April 2017, funded by the Discover England Fund (DEF).

Aim of the Project
The Aim of this project was to bring awareness of England's longest National Trail to both the Netherlands and Germany. A German and Dutch website were launched, including information on the history of the Coast Path, trails, places to stay and to eat. The Complete Guide to the South West Coast Path was translated into Dutch, the Association was present at the 'Vakantiebeurs' (travel trade show) and the 'Fiets en Wandelbeurs' (hiking and cycling Fair), both in Utrecht. Subsequently, tour operators, bloggers and journalists were invited to explore the Coast Path themselves.

Project Results
DUTCHELS joined the team at the Vakantiebeurs travel show, delivered social media content, wrote press releases, was primary contact for tour operators, press and bloggers in The Netherlands, closed media deals and helped organising press trips. The South West Coast Path Association still reaps rewards from this project and with over 75 publications in newspapers, magazines and on travel blogs today, together we look back on a very succesful PR campaign.
